TRT Welcomes Back Dana Stevens

My friend Dana Stevens has decided to rejoin us (he was one of the original TRT members who never got a post up... I said he was just paranoid about being fired, but that’s me <grin />).

He already beat me to the punch and started blogging, so check him out.

Dana is a recovering "Pocket Protector" (Developer) who has sometimes masqueraded (in the past) as a "Black Turtleneck" (Designer). His expertise seems to be eclectic (much like my own), but he is specifically knowledgeable in matters of WCF, Services, and WPF (although he’ll probably be writing on the whole spectrum of software development subjects). In fact he and I often discuss REST versus WCF (I think that WCF can be overkill for what I can do with MS MVC + MVCContrib/RESTFul Services)... but enough of that...

Welcome Dana! Glad to have you back!

Welcome Thomas S. Williams... or TRT goes global

You may have noticed that our main feed was recently populated with a bunch of of our new blogger Thomas S. Williams posts (the SubText BlogML importer’s fault... sorry about that... I have tried to correct the problem... sometimes I swear that no one who develops for SubText really tests on community-based sites).

Thomas has been blogging for almost as long as I have (4 years). He specializes in SQL and VB. Check out his stuff! Oh yeah, he’s our first non-US blogger (he’s from the land down under).

Welcome to the new TRT

Ok, so you probably are reading this via RSS (most people do), so instead of forcing everyone to come to the site to see it; here’s a screen shot (IE7 although all other major browser see it just the same)

Anyway, we are now using SubText (the blog software I originally wanted to use). There’s a gory story for why we are here now which I’ll save for a rant later.

The only real thing you need to be aware of is that if you want your picture to appear in comments register your email address with Email2face.com.

An interesting side note is that I’m currently putting this on my dev site, so it will be available after we switchover later today. I’m pretty scared about this as I know I have at least one more thing to fix (Images -- which is the real reason why I have an image on this post). Hang in there it may be a bit of a bumpy ride.
